Let’s break down how it all works. The Utah Fits All Scholarship is an ESA program, meaning it’s funded by public money.

The application portal for the 2025-2026 school year closed on May 1, 2025.

 

What may scholarship funds be used for?

The following list describes the approved expense categories. Families are encouraged to reach out to an ACE customer service representative if they have questions about individual purchases.

Approved Expense Categories
Tuition and fees at a qualifying provider
Fees and instructional materials at a technical college
Tutoring services
Fees for after-school or summer education programs
Textbooks, curricula, or other instructional materials
Educational software and applications
Supplies or other equipment for educational needs
Computer hardware or tech devices for educational needs
Fees for approved examinations and preparation courses
Educational services from a licensed or accredited practitioner
Contracted services from an LEA
Ride fees or fares for transportation to a qualifying provider (up to $750 annually)
Expenses related to extracurricular activities, field trips, and other educational experiences

Please keep in mind that this list is not inclusive of all allowable categories and expenses, and will include any other expense for a good or service that a parent or scholarship student incurs in the education of the scholarship student and the program manager approves. Details about a pre-approval process, where families may confirm the qualification of any scholarship expenses prior to purchase, are forthcoming.

Who is Eligible to Receive Funds?

To qualify for the Utah Fits All Scholarship, a family has to meet certain conditions:

Residency Students must be residents of the State of Utah
Education Level Students must be eligible to participate in public school in grades K-12
Priority & Awarding The program prioritizes and awards applications based on income and previous participation.
Enrollment Status Partial scholarships available for students also enrolled part-time in school districts and charter schools
Home-based ESA Students Are also eligible
Restrictions Students cannot receive funds from the program while also receiving funding from either the Carson Smith Scholarship Program or the Special Needs Opportunity Scholarship Program
