Will health insurance pay for this?
Many health insurance plans cover SGD (our guide HERE
). Insurance approval is often drawn-out. If your child is speech delayed, we recommend starting AAC now, and working through insurance after-the-fact.
Many families have reported that formal speech assessments required by insurance costs more than Goally SGD.
How is SGD different from DSS?
The SGD device is used for speech by default (AAC app and Word Lab unlocked). It also includes a three year license. This is required by most school districts and all insurers. You can change the device mode to unlock the rest of the Goally apps at any time.
What if my child breaks the tablet?
If they break it in the first 90 days, we will replace it for free (you pay shipping). After that, we offer replacement tablets starting at $199.
Is the parent app only for parents?
No, the parent app can be used by any adult with a modern iPhone or Android phone. Unlimited adult accounts are included with your purchase so you can invite therapists and teachers.
Should I buy the 8 inch or 10 inch?
If you need something that is more lightweight and mobile, get the 8 inch model. If you need a bigger screen or a bigger battery, buy the 10 inch model. Bigger screen means the buttons will be bigger. So that’s especially useful for kids with poor hand-eye coordination.
