How can I find out the status of my EFA application?

It usually takes 4-6 weeks to process an application after you submit it. You can log into the parent portal at any time to see the status of your application. The scholarship organization will email you a determination of conditional eligibility once your application is completed and verified. Scholarship organization staff are unable to say whether a student will be eligible or ineligible before the final determination is made by the NH Department of Education (NHDOE). Eligibility is conditional upon the NHDOE’s review and funding.

Here’s how it works. The New Hampshire Education Freedom Accounts program is funded by the state. Parents can apply by filling out an application form. If accepted, the state puts money into an account for your child’s education. The amount of money each family gets depends on a few things, like your income and your child’s needs.

Factors How Much Families Can Qualify For
Everyone who is accepted receives the base amount. The state provides a base grant of approximately $3,400 plus any qualifying differentiated aid.
Additional funding is provided for each individual factor that qualifies for “differentiated aid”. Factors include eligibility for Free or Reduced Lunch, English Language Learner status, 3rd grade reading proficiency, and having a qualifying disability. The base amount can be increased by $600 to $1,800 depending on certain factors.

How do I order Goally with my ESA funds?

Goally is now an approved vendor for New Hampshire’s Education Freedom Account Program. This means you can use your ESA funds to buy a Goally tablet. Just follow these steps:

Who is Eligible to Receive Funds?

To be eligible for a New Hampshire EFA

  1. You and your student must be New Hampshire residents.
  2. Your child must be at least 5 years old and no older than 20 years old and entering Kindergarten – 12th grade.
  3. Your family’s income must be at or below 350% of the federal poverty level guidelines.
  4. You must complete the application process and sign the EFA agreement, which includes agreeing to share academic accountability documents.
