Understanding Missouri Medicaid

Missouri currently has four HCBS 1915(c) waivers that serve children. Only the waiver for children with developmental disabilities waives parent income. For a general overview of programs, see their Home and Community Based Waivers page or their Waiver Page.

Types of Waivers

Children with Developmental Disabilities (MOCDD) Waiver

  • Description from medicaid.gov: Provides day habilitation, in-home respite, personal assistant services, support broker, applied behavior analysis, assistive technology, community networking, community specialist, crisis intervention, environmental accessibility adaptations-home/vehicle modification, health assessment and coordination services, individual directed goods and services, individualized skill development, out-of-home respite, remote supports, specialized medical equipment and supplies (adaptive equipment), and transportation services to individuals with intellectual disabilities or developmental disabilities ages 0-17 years who meet an ICF/IID level of care.

Partnership for Hope Waiver

  • Description from medicaid.gov: Provides day habilitation, personal assistant services, prevocational services, supported employment, dental, support broker, applied behavior analysis, assistive technology, benefits planning, career planning, community networking, community specialist, community transition, environmental accessibility adaptations-home/vehicle modification, family peer support, health assessment and coordination services, individual directed goods and services, individualized skill development, job development, occupational therapy, physical therapy, professional assessment and monitoring, remote supports, specialized medical equipment and supplies (adaptive equipment), speech therapy, temporary residential service, and transportation services to individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, or developmental disabilities ages 0 or older who meet an ICF/IID level of care.

Developmental Disabilities (DD) Comprehensive Waiver

  • Description from medicaid.gov: Provides day habilitation, group home, in home respite, individualized supported living, personal assistant, prevocational services, supported employment, support broker, applied behavior analysis (ABA), assistive technology, benefits planning, career planning, community networking, community specialist, community transition, crisis intervention, environmental accessibility adaptations-home/vehicle modification, individual directed goods and services, individualized skill development, intensive therapeutic residential habilitation, job development, occupational therapy, out of home respite, physical therapy, professional assessment and monitoring, shared living, specialized medical equipment and supplies (adaptive equipment), speech therapy, and transportation for individuals with intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities, ages 0 – no max age.

Division of Developmental Disabilities (DD) Community Support Waiver
