Hyperlexia is characterized by advanced reading skills in children, but understanding the meaning of what they read can be challenging. Here are some key symptoms to look out for:
- Early and rapid development of reading skills
- Difficulty with comprehension and understanding what is being read
- Challenges in verbal communication and social interactions
- Limited expressive language abilities
- Unusual or repetitive language patterns
- Difficulty with abstract or figurative language
It’s important to remember that each child may exhibit a unique combination of these symptoms. Goally, our tablet, helps kids with Hyperlexia through interactive apps for life and language skills, including visual schedules, AAC, gamified learning, emotional regulation, executive functioning, and social skills training.
